Database driven joomla website more manageable, scalable and secure

Joomla Content Management System is completely database driven. That means all the pages (articles), menu items, functionality, data, modules etc are stored in database. Of-course php files are needed to execute and how the data.

Database driven websites have several advantages over static websites. Some of the advantages of database driven websites are mentioned below:

1. Database driven websites are more manageable and scalable: For example when ever you want to update look and feel of your website. You just have to update the template and all your important data is intact and secure. That is you can change the design of your complete website just by installing new template.

2. Database driven websites are secure: Taking backup is very easy and you just have to save the export of the database to make backup of your data. There are various components out there which you can readily install which will take automatic daily backup of database. Some components will also email you the backup of the database on daily basis.
